Despite rumours that a Russian billionaire is about to buy Villa Leopolda on the French Riviera for €500 million - the highest price ever paid for a home worldwide - France is slowly joining the downward property trend observed elsewhere in the western world.
New figures show that the price of houses fell by 0.3 per cent and apartments by 0.54 per cent in August, compared to the previous months.
