Signature Capital in €27m Galway retail deal

Dublin-based investment company Signature Capital has closed a €27 million deal to acquire Edward Square shopping centre in Galway from Nama.

Dublin-based investment company Signature Capital has closed a €27 million deal to acquire Edward Square shopping centre in Galway from the National Asset Management Agency (Nama).

Signature was selected as the preferred bidder for the centre last year, but the purchase was finalised only last week. Nama provided staple finance to Signature Capital to fund the deal.

The shopping centre was developed by Gerry Barrett, the heavily indebted property developer and hotelier.
