A Smith Premier typewriter dating from the 1940s

Victor Mee’s two sales this week include the Cottage Collection, a one-time Co Carlow private museum run by Jimmy Quinlan and his late wife Frankie.

Its contents (700 of the 1,520 lots) represent decades of collecting and repairing domestic artefacts dating back to the 1700s, and estimates range from €10 to €10,000.
