Should you join the Jet set?

The Jet S8000 is Samsung’s latest attempt to grab some of Apple’s iPhone action. But how does it measure up? Adrian Weckler puts it through its paces

While the world has been distracted by the iPhone, Samsung has been steadily taking market share in Ireland with a bevvy of touchscreen phones. With its Tocco and Pixon models, the manufacturer introduced cheap devices with high-end hardware features, such as eight-megapixel cameras.

Last week, it launched its most ambitious model to date, the 800Mhz-powered Jet S8000. Costing half the price of an iPhone, will it challenge Apple’s dominance in the touchscreen market?
