Short-term prisoners to serve less time

Prisoners serving short sentences will now get out of jail quicker due to a change in the rules.

Until now, early release was only given to prisoners serving a sentence of at least a month.

But Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald has now removed this requirement and allowed all prisoners serving less than one month to get early release as well.
