Irish retailers lost €450 million last year through shoplifting, fraud and waste, according to a new survey.

Irish retailers lost €450 million last year through shoplifting, fraud and waste, according to a new survey.

The most popular items stolen were expensive branded products, such as cosmetics and skincare, womenswear, perfume and designer wear.

Also in demand by shoplifters were razor blades, DVDs and CDs, video games and consoles, small electric items and fashion accessories. Footwear and alcohol were least frequently stolen.
