Shell insists 2007 deadline for Corrib gas on schedule
Shell E&P insists it is on course to deliver gas from the Corrib gas field in the second quarter of 2007, despite setbacks for its onshore and offshore gas pipeline.
The company said it notified theMinister for Communications,Marine andNatural Resources, Noel Dempsey, last Friday of its intention to dismantle the three-kilometre onshore gas pipeline after seeking legal advice.However, Shell said it neededDempsey's sanction before it started dismantling.
A spokeswoman declined to comment on the cost of the work, except to say that the company had an agreement with contractors on extra unbudgetedwork.
