Sharp rise in use of Revenue apps

The number of taxpayers downloading Revenue applications to help them manage their tax affairs soared last year.

The number of taxpayers downloading Revenue applications to help them manage their tax affairs soared last year, with a jump of almost 150 per cent in the number of applications downloaded.

Figures from the Revenue Commissioners revealed a total of 25,030 downloads of Revenue apps in 2011.

A year earlier the tax authority recorded some 10,300 downloads of its apps.
