Skoda sales in western Europe have increased by 15.7 per cent in the first six months of the year, according to figures from parent company Volkswagen.

Skoda sales in western Europe have increased by 15.7 per cent in the first six months of the year, according to figures from parent company Volkswagen. In contrast, VW sales are down 1.7 per cent in the same period.

It is believed Skoda is picking up VW sales by building vehicles mechanically identical to those of VW, but with higher levels of equipment and lower prices.
