Shares report: ISEQ up 4% on central bank move

European shares rallied strongly on news of concerted action by central banks to ease market liquidity issues

Irish shares jumped sharply after central banks took concerted action to ease liquidity concerns in financial markets.

At close, the ISEQ share index had gained four per cent to 2,729.19 points, having dropped as low as 2,607 earlier.

In London the FTSE 100 rose 3.2 per cent while the DAX closed with gains of 4.98 per cent and the CAC rose 4.2 per cent.
