European stocks slipped on Thursday as disappointing euro zone economic data increased investors’ concerns about growth in the currency bloc.

European stocks slipped on Thursday as disappointing euro zone economic data increased investors’ concerns about growth in the currency bloc.

The euro zone failed to gather momentum in Q1 as France’s economy stalled unexpectedly and other economies, including Italy’s, shrank. Growth of just 0.2 per cent was recorded for the euro zone, only half of what economists had expected.
