European stocks rose the most in a week today as the US Federal Reserve reiterated its pledge to leave investment rates near their record low.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Index climbed 0.6 per cent by close of trading. Markets around the world also rallied as the Fed lowered its long-term forecast for interest rates from 4 per cent down to 3.75 per cent.
