Share report: Stocks rebound as earnings beat forecasts

European stocks made gains today, rebounding from four days of losses as companies including Credit Agricole and Deutsche Post reported better-than-forecast earnings.

European stocks made gains today, rebounding from four days of losses as companies including Credit Agricole and Deutsche Post reported better-than-forecast earnings.

Credit Agricole jumped 2.2 per cent after announcing that a key solvency measure had improved in the second quarter of the year. Deutsche Post also climbed 2.2 per cent after announcing a 5.7 per cent increase in their quarterly profit.

Benchmark indexes advanced in nine of the 18 western European markets.
