Share report: Stocks fall as violence escalates in Ukraine

European stocks furthered their decline this evening after reports that Russian troops had entered villages in eastern Ukraine and German confidence data eroded investor confidence.

European stocks furthered their decline this evening after reports that Russian troops had entered villages in eastern Ukraine and German confidence data eroded investor confidence.

According to Ukraine’s first deputy prime minister Vitali Yarema, a unit of Russia’s 45th Airbourne Regiment was in the eastern Ukrainian towns of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk.

Over the weekend, at least one Ukrainian serviceman died after fighting broke out with armed separatists.
