Share report: Profits slump hits markets

European stocks declined as comments from Federal Reserve policy makers fuelled speculation the central bank will begin tapering stimulus next month, and as companies cut profit forecasts.

European stocks declined as comments from Federal Reserve policy makers fuelled speculation the central bank will begin tapering stimulus next month, and as companies cut profit forecasts.

In Dublin, the ISEQ Index was down 0.1 per cent. In London, the FTSE 100 was down 0.2 per cent, while in Frankfurt the DAX was down 1.2 per cent. The CAC in Paris was down 0.4 per cent.
