Share report: markets shrug off Italian woes

European shares shrugged off the downgrade of Italy and gained as China reported the slowest expansion in three years, fueling speculation policy makers will add to stimulus measures.

European shares shrugged off the downgrade of Italy and gained as China reported the slowest expansion in three years, fueling speculation policy makers will add to stimulus measures.

In Dublin, the ISEQ was up 0.4 per cent, as ELan and Bank of Ireland rose more than 2 per cent and CRH, C&C and Ryanair all rose more than 1 per cent.

In London, the FTSE was up 0.4 per cent, as was the CAC in Paris....
