Irish shares have opened higher as ministers meet in Copenhagen to agree what's expected to be a bigger firewall for the euro zone countries.

The ISEQ index was up 0.4 per cent at 3,247.43 at 8.30 am.

AIB shares were 1.1 per cent higher after the bank reported a narrower loss for 2011.
