Share report: Iseq falls 1.1% as markets drop

European stocks fell for a second day, extending a four-week low, as investors watched the start of the US earnings-reporting season and efforts to end a government shutdown in the world’s largest economy.

US stocks fell, after the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index dropped to the lowest level in a month.

European stocks fell for a second day, extending a four-week low, as investors watched the start of the US earnings-reporting season and efforts to end a government shutdown in the world’s largest economy.

In Dublin, the Iseq index was down 1.1 per cent, as was the FTSE in London. Frankfurt’s DAX fell 0.4 per cent and the CAC in Paris was down 0.8 per cent.
