The Iseq Index of shares closed up almost 1.5 per cent today, hitting its highest point since April 2010.

The Iseq Index of shares closed up almost 1.5 per cent today, hitting its highest point since April 2010.

The main movers were Bank Of Ireland (up 7.4 per cent), Elan (up 5.4 per cent), Glanbia (up 2.6 per cent) and Aryzta (up 2.4 per cent).

Total Produce was up 5.3 per cent and CPL was up 5.3 per cent, while Providence Oil was up 4.2 per cent following its oilwell announcement yesterday.
