Share report: European stocks rise on good earnings

European stocks climbed today, following a two-day decline, as companies including Next and Ferrovial posted better-than-estimated results.

European stocks climbed today, following a two-day decline, as companies including Next and Ferrovial posted better-than-estimated results.

Next advanced 2.6 per cent after saying that it had increased its annual profit and sales forecasts. Spanish construction company Ferrovial rose 1.3 per cent after it posted first-half profit which exceeded expectations and said it will buy back shares.
