Share report: European markets fall

Shares fall after S&P cuts its French credit rating.

European shares dropped, paring the Stoxx Europe 600 Index’s fifth weekly gain, after Standard & Poor’s cut France’s credit rating and investors awaited data on American jobs.

Ireland's ISEQ shares index was down 0.6 per cent at 8.45 am.

The Euro Stoxx index fell 0.7 per cent; the CAC fell 0.8 per cent while the DAX dropped 0.7 per cent.
