Shannon Port chief executive fights dismissal action in High Court

The chief executive of Shannon Foynes Port Company (SFPC), Brian Byrne, has sought an injunction in the High Court to prevent the board of the port from removing him from his position.

The chief executive of Shannon Foynes Port Company (SFPC), Brian Byrne, has sought an injunction in the High Court to prevent the board of the port from removing him from his position.

The board had voted to remove Byrne from his post, but Byrne sought the injunction in the High Court last week and the matter has been adjourned until October 22. It is understood the parties involved are in negotiations for a possible settlement...
