Shannon plans airline route fund

In a bid to achieve a 2012 tourism target of almost 600,000 extra visitors to the Shannon Region, Shannon Development is planning a new airline route development fund for Shannon Airport.

In a bid to achieve a 2012 tourism target of almost 600,000 extra visitors to the Shannon Region, Shannon Development is planning a new airline route development fund for Shannon Airport.

The new fund will be used to help secure additional scheduled and charter business for the airport.

Vincent Cunnane, Chief Executive, Shannon Development said the organisation was already in discussions about the plan with public and private sector interests in the Shannon Region.
