Shane McEntee, junior minister, dies aged 56

UPDATE: Taoiseach leads tributes to the Meath Fine Gael TD and junior agricultural minister, Shane McEntee, who has died suddenly aged 56.

Tributes are being paid to the late Minister of State for Agriculture, Shane McEntee, who has died suddenly aged 56. The Fine Gael TD represented Meath East.

McEntee, who had responsibility for food, horticulture and food safety in the Department of Agriculture, represented the constituency of Meath East where he was first elected in a bye-election in 2005.

"I am devastated at the sudden passing of Minister of State Shane McEntee," said the **Taoiseach, Enda Kenny**.
