SFI grows number of commercial sponsors

Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) has announced that it has managed to increase the number of commercial partnerships it sponsors by 19 per cent last year.

Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) has announced that it has managed to increase the number of commercial partnerships it sponsors by 19 per cent last year.

The organisation, which published its annual report last week, said that, with SFI-supported researchers working in conjunction with 246 multinational companies and 337 SMEs in 2011, a 19 per cent increase on 2010. A total of 583 companies were involved in 939 linkages with SFI funded researchers.
