As the delegates file into today’s Sinn Fein ard fheis to debate whether or not to endorse the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the outcome is in little doubt. Although senior Sinn Fein members were warning that nothing was to be taken for granted, they were also quietly confident of achieving the two-thirds majority needed to secure the leadership’s proposal.

Any dissent will most likely come from Sinn Fein’s youth...
