The rate of growth in business activity in the services sector accelerated for the second month in a row in October and was the strongest seen since August 2007, a new survey showed.

The NCB services purchasing managers index (PMI) rose to 56.1 in October from 53.9 in September.

Employment increased for the second month running although the survey also recorded a marked rise in input costs, mainly due to higher costs for fuel and utilities.
