Irish services activity increased sharply again in April as new business rose at the fastest pace since September 2006 amid a general strengthening of economic conditions, according to a new survey.

The latest Purchasing Managers’ Index for the services sector carried out by Investec showed that steeper rates of expansion were also recorded in employment and outstanding business during the month.
