Services sector growing at strongest pace since 2007

The rate of growth in the Irish service sector activity quickened again in August, accelerating for the third consecutive month to the strongest since February 2007, according to a new survey this morning.

The rate of growth in the Irish service sector activity quickened again in August, accelerating for the third consecutive month to the strongest since February 2007, according to a new survey this morning.

The Investec Purchasing Managers’ Index stood at 61.6, with anything over 50 indicating expansion in the sector. In July it stood at 57.6 and has been steadily rising each month this year.
