Serica confident of west coast gas find

The Britain-based exploration company Serica Energy is to begin a $30 million drilling programme for gas at one of its prospects off the west coast of Ireland.

The Britain-based exploration company Serica Energy is to begin a $30 million drilling programme for gas at one of its prospects off the west coast of Ireland.

The Slyne block prospect is around 40 kilometres south of the Corrib gas find. Serica Energy chief executive Paul Ellis said that seismic data for the location gives the company cause for confidence that it will find gas.
