Self-assessment tax deadline looms nearer

A significant proportion of newly-established self-employed individuals are failing to file tax returns in the correct year, tax experts have warned.

For anyone liable to pay income tax under the self-assessment system, the pay-and-file date of October 31 is fast approaching. Taxpayers who opt to make their return and pay their tax bill online via the Revenue Online Service (ROS) have a little longer - until November 14.
