Security companies that carry large sums of cash have been given until the end of the year to deploy containers that self-destruct if they are stolen.

The Private Security Authority (PSA) has also told cash-in-transit companies that their vehicle fleets will have to include the latest anti-interception technology if they wish to obtain a licence to operate in the lucrative sector.
