A major operation had been planned for Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s planned attendance at the Connacht senior football final at Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon this afternoon, amid concerns about fans’ anger over the closure of the local hospital’s A&E unit last week.

Kenny pulled out of the visit on Friday citing family commitments.
