A second free pre-school year has been ruled out for introduction in this year's budget by the Minister for Children, Frances Fitzgerald.

A second free pre-school year has been ruled out for introduction in this year's budget by the Minister for Children, Frances Fitzgerald.

The minister told The Sunday Business Post that she remained committed to its extension but that it would happen over the "next number of years" after a higher standards of inspections and qualifications were introduced across the sector.
