The Saab BioPower 9-5 is now available and is the second car in Ireland capable of running on E85, a blend of 15 per cent petrol and 85 per cent bio-ethanol.

The Ford Focus Flexifuel is already available. It is powered by Saab’s 2-litre turbo engine.

Thanks to the higher octane rating of ethanol, it delivers 185 bhp instead of 150 bhp, with torque up from 240 Nm to 280 Nm. As it benefits from...
