In December 1999, to mark the Millennium, Seamus Heaney gave The Sunday Business Post permission to print Bann Valley Eclogue, which later appeared with some variations in his collection Electric Light (Faber and Faber, 2001). The last verse printed here was omitted from that more widely known version of the poem.
