Scribbler: Three Irish on IMPAC list

Three Irish authors have made the shortlist for this year’s International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, one of the world’s most prestigious literary prizes, which has a prize fund of €100,000.

Ten authors have been shortlisted from a total of 162 novels nominated by 166 public library systems in 126 cities worldwide. The shortlist includes novels by the Irish authors Colum McCann (Let the Great World Spin), Colm Toibin (Brooklyn) and William Trevor (Love and Summer). Yiyun Li is also nominated for The Vagrants, alongside veterans Joyce Carol Oates for Little Bird of Heaven and Barbara Kingsolver for The Lacuna.
