A "heart of gold" treatment could one day benefit patients with ailing hearts, according to a Press Association report. Scientists have added tiny gold "nanowires" to engineered heart tissue to make it function better. In future, the gold-enhanced cardiac patches could be used to repair the damage caused by heart attacks.
