Last week saw the launch of the Robbie Millar Scholarship, which aims to encourage high standards for young chefs already working in the industry by focusing on the use of good ingredients in innovative cooking.

The scholarship has been initiated to commemorate northern chef Robbie Millar, who was killed in a car crash in August 2005. Millar was known for his use of Irish ingredients, as well as his regular deliveries from the markets in Paris.
