Creganna, the Galway medical devices firm, recorded a 40 per cent surge in sales to €45 million last year as it continued to expand.

The company, which makes products used in minimally invasive surgery, is the biggest indigenous medical devices firm, with about 500 staff. Staff numbers rose by 35 per cent last year, and Creganna has just opened a manufacturing facility in Massachusetts.
