Revenues at Argos outlets have dropped by a further 8.5 per cent in the first eight weeks of 2012, after an 8.8 per cent drop in the previous quarter.

Argos sales extend decline.

Revenues at Argos outlets have dropped by a further 8.5 per cent in the first eight weeks of 2012, after an 8.8 per cent drop in the previous quarter.

The Homebase chain, which is also part of the Home Retail group that owns Argos, suffered a 6.5 per cent drop in sales.

The retailer blamed continued weakness in consumer electronics for the fall at Argos.
