Sales at O2 retail chain reach €63.6m

Demand for mobile phones, MP3 players and other gadgets pushed sales at O2 Retail, the chain of shops owned by phone company O2, up 15 per cent to €63.6 million last year.

Demand for mobile phones, MP3 players and other gadgets pushed sales at O2 Retail, the chain of shops owned by phone company O2, up 15 per cent to €63.6 million last year.

However, the company’s pre-tax profit fell to €1.5 million in the year to the end of March 2005 because of higher costs. In the previous year, the company had made a pre-tax profit of €2.6 million on sales of €55.4 million.
