The late Gillian Bowler was a consummate businesswoman with a passion for art. She was successful in multiple fields, but her lasting legacy is surely the vision she implemented for Imma when she chaired its board during its formative years.
She was determined that the new museum should be in the vanguard of 20th-century art, as opposed to showing “paintings of donkeys on west of Ireland beaches in order to woo the general public”....
