Sagem wins ESB smart meter pilot contract

French electronics firm Sagem has won the contract to supply the ESB with the equipment for its smart metering pilot project, which was recently scaled back and has been delayed.

French electronics firm Sagem has won the contract to supply the ESB with the equipment for its smart metering pilot project, which was recently scaled back and has been delayed.

Sagemwas one of 13 bidders for the project. Other bidders included US firm Aclara and German companies Elster and Trilliant.

The value of the contract has not been disclosed, but the Commission for Energy Regulation previously said that schemes had already been launched in Italy, Sweden...
