Ryanair traffic up 1% as share price holds steady

Analysts have speculated that any move by Ryanair to increase price competition could put competitors under intense pressure.

Ryanair said that its passenger traffic increased by 1 per cent to over 9 million passengers in August.

The airline claimed that it had become the first European airline ever to carry 9 million passengers in one month and said that annual traffic to the end of August grew 2 per cent to over 80 million passengers.
