Ryanair agrees €12 bln deal for Boeing aircraft

UPDATE: Ryanair's share price has hit a nearly six year high after it confirmed an agreement to buy 175 aircraft from Boeing in a $15.6 billion deal.

Ryanair's share price hit its highest share price in nearly six years after it said earlier that it had agreed to buy 175 so-called Next Generation 737 aircraft from Boeing in a $15.6 billion (€12 billion) deal, the US firm's largest ever order from a European airline.

The deal is also thought to be the largest ever order by an Irish company.
