The Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Eamon Ryan, has asked an Oireachtas committee to hold a series of meetings on a growing controversy in Meath and Cavan over new power lines from the Republic to the North.
The Green Party minister will also seek all-party agreement, through a joint Oireachtas committee on energy, for a €9.65 billion upgrade of the electricity grid up to 2020, to handle renewable energy.
