Conclusions that the removal of two Roma children from their homes last week was motivated by racial profiling are ''premature'', the country's Special Rapporteur on Child Protection Dr Geoffrey Shannon has warned.

Gardaí seize two children per day using the same emergency legislation that was invoked to remove two Roma children from their parents last week. The Gardaí used Section 12 of the Childcare Act on 764 occasions in 2012 and 751 times in 2011....
