Rural TDs vastly outdo Dublin TDs on medical card requests

Former Health Minister Dr James Reilly was the only Dublin TD in the “Top 50” TDs who phoned the HSE’s medical card unit over 90 times in the past six months.

Former Health Minister Dr James Reilly was the only Dublin TD in the “Top 50”.

Dublin TDs are not expected to go to funerals - and it seems they are not expected to get medical cards for their constituents either.

The Sunday Business Post has obtained records showing that ministers, TDs and Senators have bombarded the HSE with over 21,000 phone calls and emails about medical cards so far this year.
