Fianna Fáil TDs in the Lemass Forum have invited the pressure group Rise (Rural Ireland Says Enough) to Leinster House this week in a move that will heighten tensions with the Green Party over its bill to regulate the dog breeding industry.

The Lemass Forum, founded to provide an alternative policy discussion group for government backbenchers, will offer a platform to the most strident opponents of the Greens’ animal welfare bills on Wednesday....
